Ranch Hope volunteer Jim Robinson, of Medford, NJ, received the Jack Breakstone Volunteer of the Year Award during the NJ Alliance for Children, Youth and Families annual conference in April. He was nominated for the award by Jim Whitt, chief operating officer, in recognition of his years of service directing the Ranch Hope Student Choir.
Jim Robinson has been leading the boys and girls in song since 1990. He’s on campus for weekly rehearsals and schedules all the group’s performances at churches and other community events.
Jim works with the young people on an individual basis with regard to their musical abilities as well as with the whole group. He is a great role model who loves sharing his passion for music with the students.
NJ District 3 Assemblyman John Burzichelli was selected the Child Advocate of the Year.
He was nominated by Ranch Hope CEO Dave Bailey, Jr.
Assemblyman Burzichelli has been a strong advocate for children and families, and has personally advocated for Ranch Hope in regard to the cost of providing care, unfunded mandates, contract close-out issues, and issues surrounding the State’s referral process.
Burzichelli has been the Mayor of Paulsboro since 1996 and a member of the NJ Assembly since 2002. He is the founder of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Paulsboro, past President of Paulsboro Chamber of Commerce and a member of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Executive Board.
The Alliance represents 39 private organizations that serve at-risk children and adolescents throughout New Jersey, providing advocacy, education, and a common voice on behalf of families and individuals. The Alliance also presented scholarships to 22 residents of its 39 agencies at the conference, giving deserving seniors and those already in college a chance to build a brighter future.
