NICA Coaching 101 @ Camp Edge
Oct 21 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
NICA Coaching 101 @ Camp Edge | Alloway | New Jersey | United States

Coaching Essentials, including NICA On-the-Bike Skills “101” Training for coaches, led by NJICL sponsor and national coach support-trained staff of Cognition Coaching. To register or for more information CLICK HERE

You’ll learn the NICA-endorsed training method, which includes the progressive steps needed to teach anyone (even yourself) both basic and advanced mountain biking skills. You will also learn about experiential teaching techniques, how to accommodate different learning styles, and how to create a positive learning environment for young riders.

This clinic will be held outdoors, so please bring your bike and appropriate riding and safety gear for the weather – we recommend layers. The fee includes the NICA Coaching Manual digital download, and a NICA OTB 101 field guide for your pack and snacks for the day.

Camp Edge has opened the doors for camping for our coaches for the entire weekend! There is a race on Saturday which benefits the camp and our very own Salem County Reactors Team! Feel free to register for the race and camp out Saturday evening to take part in our training on Sunday. How cool!

Red Ribbon Week
Oct 23 – Oct 31 all-day

Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don’t, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.

Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction cause by drugs in America. In 1988, NFP sponsored the first National Red Ribbon Celebration. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
